The Hikvision DS-3E1326P-EI/M provides centralized network connectivity and Power over Ethernet distribution for professional IP surveillance systems. Featuring 24 Fast Ethernet PoE ports and two Gigabit uplink connections, it allows multiple compatible IP cameras to communicate with a network video recorder or existing network infrastructure. Furthermore, its smart management capabilities simplify network monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance.

24 Fast Ethernet PoE Ports for CCTV Cameras

The switch provides 24 × 10/100Mbps PoE Ethernet ports for connecting compatible IP surveillance cameras and other powered networking devices. Power over Ethernet technology enables electrical power and network data to travel through a single Ethernet cable. Consequently, installers can reduce the need for separate camera power adapters and simplify cable management.

230W Total PoE Power Budget

The Hikvision DS-3E1326P-EI/M supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE standards. Each PoE port supports up to 30W, subject to the switch’s combined 230W power budget. For example, 24 cameras consuming 8W each would require approximately 192W, which is within the available power budget.

However, 24 cameras drawing 12W each would require 288W and exceed the switch’s capacity. Therefore, installers should calculate the combined power requirements of all connected devices before installation.

Gigabit RJ45 and Combo Uplink Connectivity

The switch features one dedicated Gigabit RJ45 uplink and one Gigabit combo RJ45/SFP interface. The RJ45 uplink enables connection to compatible NVRs, routers and other network switches. Meanwhile, the combo interface allows administrators to select copper Ethernet or fibre-optic connectivity using a compatible SFP transceiver.

However, the copper and SFP connections of a combo port share the same logical interface and cannot operate as two independent uplinks simultaneously.

Smart Network Management

The Hikvision DS-3E1326P-EI/M supports smart network management for monitoring and configuring supported network functions. Administrators can view network topology, monitor device health and receive supported network alerts through compatible management platforms. Additionally, these capabilities help simplify maintenance in CCTV installations with multiple cameras.

Intelligent PoE Watchdog

The PoE watchdog feature monitors supported connected cameras and can automatically restart PoE power when a camera becomes unresponsive. Consequently, this feature may reduce the need for manual camera power cycling. However, automatic restarting cannot resolve every network or camera fault.

Up to 300m Long Range PoE Transmission

The switch supports extended PoE transmission of up to 300 metres on ports 1–24 under suitable conditions. This provides installation flexibility for compatible IP cameras located farther from the central network cabinet. Nevertheless, the achievable distance depends on cable quality, connected devices and operating conditions. Extended transmission may reduce available network speeds.

VLAN Support and Port Isolation

The Hikvision DS-3E1326P-EI/M supports IEEE 802.1Q VLAN configuration and port isolation. These functions help administrators organize network traffic and restrict unnecessary communication between selected camera ports. As a result, they provide greater network control than a basic unmanaged PoE switch.

STP and RSTP Loop Prevention

The switch supports Spanning Tree Protocol and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol. These features help prevent network loops that can interrupt communication and affect network performance. Furthermore, static link aggregation provides additional connectivity configuration options for compatible network infrastructure.

VIP Priority Ports

Ports 1–8 support VIP traffic prioritization. When network bandwidth becomes insufficient, traffic on these ports can receive forwarding priority. Therefore, installers can prioritize selected surveillance cameras or other important connected devices.

Cable Detection and Troubleshooting

The switch supports cable detection to help identify certain Ethernet cable faults. Additionally, smart monitoring functions provide visibility into network connections and connected equipment. Consequently, technicians can troubleshoot surveillance installations more efficiently.

6kV Surge Protection

The Hikvision DS-3E1326P-EI/M incorporates 6kV surge protection to improve resistance to electrical disturbances. However, suitable grounding and additional protection may still be required for exposed outdoor network cables.
