16 Gigabit PoE Ports for CCTV Cameras

The switch features 16 × 10/100/1000Mbps PoE Ethernet ports, supporting compatible IP surveillance cameras and other powered networking devices. Unlike Fast Ethernet switches, its Gigabit connectivity provides additional bandwidth for high-resolution video transmission. Consequently, it is suitable for CCTV installations requiring multiple cameras to operate simultaneously.

230W Total PoE Power Budget

The Hikvision DS-3E0518P-E supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet standards. Each PoE port can supply up to 30W, subject to the combined 230W power budget. For example, sixteen cameras drawing 10W each would require approximately 160W, which is within the switch’s available PoE budget.

However, sixteen devices drawing 20W each would exceed the total power capacity. Therefore, installers should calculate device power requirements before deployment.

Gigabit RJ45 and SFP Uplink Connectivity

The switch includes one Gigabit RJ45 uplink and one Gigabit SFP fibre-optic uplink. The RJ45 uplink enables connection to compatible NVRs, routers or other network switches. Meanwhile, the SFP interface provides an option for fibre connectivity when a compatible transceiver is installed.
