The Hikvision DS-3E0505P-E/M provides high speed Ethernet connectivity and centralized Power over Ethernet distribution for small surveillance systems and business networks. Featuring four Gigabit PoE ports and one dedicated Gigabit uplink, it enables compatible IP cameras to connect to a network video recorder, router or existing network infrastructure.

Furthermore, its unmanaged design eliminates complicated switch configuration, making installation straightforward.

Four Gigabit PoE Ports for IP CCTV Cameras

The switch features four 10/100/1000Mbps PoE Ethernet ports for connecting compatible IP cameras, wireless access points and other PoE powered networking devices. Unlike traditional Fast Ethernet switches, Gigabit connectivity provides higher bandwidth for transmitting network data. Consequently, the switch is suitable for small surveillance systems requiring reliable communication between cameras and recording equipment.

35W Total PoE Power Budget

The Hikvision DS-3E0505P-E/M supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet standards. Each PoE port can provide up to 30W, subject to the switch’s combined 35W power budget. For example, four IP cameras consuming 7W each would require approximately 28W, which is within the available PoE capacity.

However, four devices drawing 12W each would require 48W and exceed the switch’s power budget. Therefore, installers should calculate the combined power requirements of all connected equipment before installation.
