Reliable Hikvision DS-3T0510HP-E/HS Harsh PoE Switch

The Hikvision DS-3T0510HP-E/HS is designed to deliver reliable Gigabit network connectivity and Power over Ethernet in demanding environments. Unlike conventional office network switches, it supports a wider operating temperature range and includes features designed for industrial surveillance installations. Furthermore, its unmanaged design simplifies deployment without requiring complicated network configuration.

Eight Gigabit PoE Ports for IP CCTV Cameras

The switch provides eight 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 PoE ports for connecting compatible IP cameras, wireless access points and other powered networking devices. Six ports support standard PoE and PoE+, while two dedicated Hi PoE ports accommodate compatible higher power equipment. Consequently, installers can connect conventional surveillance cameras and selected high power PTZ cameras through the same switch.

Two Hi PoE Ports with Up to 90W Output

Ports 1 and 2 support IEEE 802.3bt Hi-PoE power delivery, with a maximum individual port rating of 90W. This makes the switch suitable for compatible high power surveillance equipment, including selected PTZ cameras requiring more power than standard PoE+ provides. However, the 90W rating is a per port maximum, not the amount available simultaneously on both ports.

110W Total PoE Power Budget

The Hikvision DS-3T0510HP-E/HS provides a combined PoE power budget of 110W across its eight powered ports. For example, six cameras consuming 10W each and one high power device consuming 40W would require approximately 100W. However, two devices each drawing 90W would exceed the available power budget. Therefore, installers should calculate the total power requirements before connecting multiple cameras.

Two Gigabit SFP Fibre Uplink Ports

The switch features two Gigabit SFP fibre-optic interfaces for integration with compatible fibre networking equipment. These interfaces provide useful connectivity options for surveillance networks spanning larger buildings or industrial premises.

Furthermore, fibre connections can help connect network switches across suitable long-distance installations when appropriate transceivers and fibre cabling are used.

20Gbps Switching Capacity

The switch provides a 20Gbps switching capacity and 14.88Mpps packet forwarding rate. These capabilities support efficient data transmission across its eight Gigabit Ethernet ports and two SFP interfaces. As a result, the switch can handle simultaneous network traffic from multiple compatible surveillance cameras.

Up to 300m Long Range PoE Transmission

The Hikvision DS-3T0510HP-E/HS supports extended PoE transmission of up to 300 metres on ports 7 and 8 under suitable conditions. This provides installation flexibility for cameras positioned farther from the central network cabinet. Nevertheless, the achievable distance depends on camera compatibility, cable quality and installation conditions. Extended mode may reduce transmission speed.

Intelligent PoE Watchdog

The PoE watchdog feature monitors connected devices on ports 1–8 and can automatically restart PoE power when supported cameras become unresponsive. Consequently, this functionality can reduce the need for manual camera power cycling. However, automatic restarting does not guarantee recovery from every camera or network fault.

Port Isolation for Improved Network Security

The switch includes port isolation functionality for ports 1–8. When enabled, this feature helps restrict communication between connected camera ports while maintaining the intended uplink connectivity. Therefore, it can improve network organization in CCTV surveillance installations.

Wide Operating Temperature Range

The Hikvision DS-3T0510HP-E/HS is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 65°C. This makes it suitable for protected industrial installations, equipment cabinets and other demanding environments where conventional office switches may not be appropriate. However, its wide temperature rating does not mean the switch is waterproof or suitable for unprotected outdoor exposure.

6kV Surge Protection

The switch incorporates 6kV surge protection to improve resistance to electrical disturbances affecting network connections. Additionally, its metal enclosure provides a durable construction for professional installations.

Nevertheless, proper grounding and suitable external surge protection remain important where network cables are exposed to electrical hazards.
