The Hikvision DS-3E1526P-SI combines Gigabit Ethernet performance with intelligent Power over Ethernet management to support professional surveillance networks. Featuring 24 PoE ports and two fibre uplinks, it allows multiple compatible IP cameras to connect to recording equipment and existing network infrastructure.

Furthermore, its smart management capabilities provide greater control over network performance and maintenance than conventional unmanaged switches.

24 Gigabit PoE Ports for IP CCTV Cameras

The switch provides 24 × 10/100/1000Mbps PoE Ethernet ports for connecting compatible IP cameras, wireless access points and VoIP phones. Gigabit connectivity offers higher bandwidth than traditional Fast Ethernet switches. Consequently, the device is suitable for surveillance networks using multiple high-resolution cameras.

370W Total PoE Power Budget

The Hikvision DS-3E1526P-SI supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet standards. Each PoE port can deliver up to 30W, subject to the combined 370W budget. For example, 24 cameras consuming 12W each require approximately 288W, which is within the available power capacity.

However, 24 devices drawing 20W each would require 480W and exceed the switch’s total budget. Therefore, installers should calculate the power requirements of connected devices before installation.

Dual Gigabit SFP Fibre Uplinks

The switch features two Gigabit SFP fibre-optic uplink ports for integration with compatible networking equipment. These interfaces provide flexible connectivity between network cabinets, buildings and surveillance infrastructure.

Additionally, suitable fibre transceivers and cabling can support connections over longer distances than conventional copper Ethernet cabling.

Intelligent PoE Watchdog

The PoE watchdog feature monitors supported connected cameras and can automatically restart PoE power when certain devices become unresponsive. Consequently, this may reduce the need for manual camera power cycling. However, automatic restarting does not guarantee recovery from every camera or network fault.

Up to 300m Long Range PoE Transmission

The switch supports extended PoE transmission of up to 300 metres on ports 1–24 under suitable conditions. Nevertheless, long-range performance depends on cable quality, camera compatibility and installation conditions. Extended mode may also reduce available data speeds.

These functions help administrators organize network traffic and restrict unnecessary communication between selected devices. STP, RSTP and Link Aggregation

The switch supports network loop prevention and static link aggregation. Spanning Tree Protocol helps reduce the risk of network loops, while link aggregation can combine compatible connections into a logical network link.
