The Hikvision DS-3E1505P-EI/M combines Gigabit Ethernet connectivity with intelligent Power over Ethernet technology. It is designed to simplify the installation and management of compatible IP cameras, wireless access points and other network devices.

Furthermore, the switch allows installers to transmit data and electrical power through a single Ethernet cable. Consequently, installations require fewer separate power adapters and can be easier to maintain.

Four Gigabit PoE Ports and One Uplink Port

The switch features four 10/100/1000Mbps PoE ports and one additional Gigabit RJ45 uplink port. Therefore, users can connect up to four compatible PoE powered devices while maintaining an uplink connection to a router, NVR or larger network.

Unlike Fast Ethernet switches, its Gigabit ports provide additional bandwidth for compatible high-resolution IP cameras and networking equipment.

45W Total PoE Power Budget

The Hikvision DS-3E1505P-EI/M supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE standards. Each PoE port supports up to 30W, while the combined power budget is 45W. Therefore, installers must ensure that the total power requirements of connected devices remain within the available budget.

For example, four cameras drawing 10W each would require 40W, which is within the rated budget. However, four devices drawing 20W each would exceed it.

Intelligent PoE Watchdog

The integrated PoE watchdog helps detect connected cameras that stop responding. When enabled and configured, it can automatically restart the affected PoE port. As a result, certain camera connectivity problems can be resolved without requiring an immediate site visit. This feature is particularly useful for CCTV systems where continuous monitoring is important.

Long Range PoE Transmission Up to 300 Metres

The switch supports extended PoE transmission on ports 1–4, with a manufacturer-rated distance of up to 300 metres. Consequently, it can be useful for cameras installed at gates, parking areas, warehouses and other locations farther from the main networking equipment.

However, the actual transmission distance depends on cable quality, connected equipment and operating conditions. Long-range operation may also involve reduced link speeds.

Smart VLAN Network Management

The Hikvision DS-3E1505P-EI/M supports IEEE 802.1Q VLAN functionality, enabling administrators to organize network traffic into separate logical groups. Additionally, it supports Access and Trunk port modes and up to 32 VLANs. Therefore, users can improve network organization and separate CCTV traffic from other network services when required.

STP and RSTP Loop Prevention

The switch supports Spanning Tree Protocol and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol. These technologies help prevent network loops that could otherwise cause communication problems. Furthermore, they improve network stability when properly configured.

Port Isolation for Improved Network Security

Port isolation helps control communication between connected devices. For example, isolated CCTV camera ports can be prevented from communicating directly with one another while retaining access to an uplink port. This can help improve network segmentation in compatible surveillance installations.

Remote Management Through Hik-Partner Pro

The switch supports integration with Hik-Partner Pro for convenient network monitoring and maintenance. Installers can view supported port information, monitor PoE power usage, check network topology and review device alarms.

Additionally, supported management functions include remote port restarts, firmware upgrades and long-range mode configuration.

Cable Detection and Network Troubleshooting

Cable detection functions help identify certain Ethernet cable faults. Consequently, technicians can troubleshoot connectivity issues more efficiently and reduce unnecessary maintenance work.

6kV Surge Protection

The switch incorporates 6kV surge protection to improve resistance to electrical disturbances. Nevertheless, proper grounding and appropriate external surge protection remain important, particularly in environments with exposed network cabling.
