UGREEN USB USB-C to HDMI + VGA Converter – MM123

The UGREEN MM123 USB-C to HDMI + VGA Converter provides a convenient solution for connecting modern USB-C devices to both newer HDMI displays and older VGA monitors or projectors.

It features a USB-C male input, an HDMI female output and a VGA female output. Therefore, it is particularly useful for business presentations, classrooms, conference rooms and workstations where different display interfaces are commonly encountered.

HDMI Output up to 4K

The HDMI interface supports HDMI 1.4b with resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 at 30Hz. This allows compatible USB-C laptops and other devices to output crisp 4K video to TVs and monitors. At Full HD resolutions, the adapter can support higher refresh rates depending on the connected equipment.

VGA Output for Older Displays

In addition to HDMI, the MM123 includes a VGA output for connecting older monitors and projectors. The VGA interface supports resolutions up to 1920 × 1200 at 60Hz, with common resolutions including 1920 × 1080, 1600 × 1200, 1360 × 768, 1280 × 1024 and 1280 × 720. This makes the adapter especially practical for offices and schools that still use VGA projectors.

HDMI Carries Video and Audio

When HDMI is used, compatible source devices can transmit digital video and audio through the HDMI connection. VGA, however, is an analog video interface and does not carry audio.

USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode Required

The USB-C port on the source device must support video output through DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode). Therefore, simply having a USB-C connector does not guarantee compatibility. USB-C ports designed only for charging or basic data transfer cannot output video through the MM123.

Plug and Play

The MM123 is designed for straightforward installation and generally requires no additional driver or software on compatible systems. Simply connect: USB-C device → UGREEN MM123 → HDMI/VGA cable → Display

Ideal for Presentations

Because the adapter provides both HDMI and VGA interfaces, it is particularly useful for people who frequently make presentations.

For example, a modern laptop with only USB-C can connect to:

• New HDMI projectors
• Older VGA projectors
• HDMI televisions
• Desktop monitors
• Conference-room displays
• Classroom displays

Compact and Portable

The MM123 has a compact design with an integrated USB-C cable. Published specifications list dimensions around 58 × 38 × 15mm, making it easy to carry in a laptop bag.

Features:

• Dual Output: HDMI and VGA:
  • HDMI Port: Supports video output up to 4K at 30Hz, delivering clear and sharp images on modern displays.
  • VGA Port: Supports resolutions up to 1080p at 60Hz, allowing connection to older projectors or monitors that still use VGA.
• Simultaneous Display: The adapter can output to both HDMI and VGA simultaneously, but when both are used, the maximum resolution is 1080p for each output. This is useful for presentations or setups where you need to display content on two screens at once.
• Plug and Play: No need for additional drivers or software installations. Simply connect the adapter to your USB-C device, and it’s ready to use.
• Wide Compatibility: Works with a range of USB-C devices that support video output, such as MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, Dell XPS, Samsung Galaxy series, and more.
• Portable Design: The compact and lightweight design makes it easy to carry around. Making it ideal for business trips, meetings, or use in different work environments.
• Durable Construction: UGREEN typically uses high-quality materials for their adapters. Thus ensuring a robust build that can withstand regular use.

Use Cases:

• Business Presentations: Ideal for professionals who need to connect their laptops or tablets to different types of projectors or monitors in meeting rooms, conference centers, or classrooms.
• Workstations: Perfect for expanding your desktop workspace by connecting your device to multiple displays, enhancing productivity.
• Travel and Remote Work: Useful for travelers or remote workers who may need to connect their devices to different displays in various environments, such as hotels or client offices.
