MikroTik 11UG-5HaxD-NB NetBox 5 ax Outdoor WiFi 6 Router

The MikroTik NetBox 5 ax L11UG-5HaxD-NB brings Wi-Fi 6 performance to MikroTik’s popular NetBox outdoor platform. Designed for flexible professional deployments, it can operate as an outdoor access point, CPE or point to point wireless device.

The NetBox 5 ax provides two external RP-SMA antenna connectors. Therefore, installers can select an antenna according to the required coverage pattern and distance.

5GHz WiFi 6 Performance

The NetBox 5 ax uses the QCN-6102 wireless chipset and supports 802.11a/n/ac/ax standards on the 5GHz band.

Its dual chain Wi-Fi 6 radio provides a maximum theoretical wireless data rate of up to 2400Mbps.

Wi-Fi 6 technology makes the NetBox 5 ax suitable for modern wireless networks where efficient use of available spectrum, improved performance and reliable connectivity are important.

Flexible AP, CPE and Point to Point Deployment

One of the biggest advantages of the NetBox 5 ax is its flexibility. It can be configured for several applications, including:

• Building to building connectivity

MikroTik specifically positions the device for AP, CPE and point to point applications.

External RP-SMA Antenna Connectors

The NetBox 5 ax provides two external RP-SMA female antenna connectors. This allows installers to select suitable external antennas instead of being restricted to an integrated antenna.

For example, it can be paired with a suitable omnidirectional antenna for access point applications or a high gain directional antenna for long-distance links.

MikroTik notes that pairing it with the mANT30 PA can support point-to-point links over distances of up to approximately 30km under appropriate conditions. Actual distance and reliability depend heavily on antenna selection, line of sight, interference, installation and local radio regulations.

Dual-Core ARM Processor

At the heart of the NetBox 5 ax is a Qualcomm IPQ-5010 dual-core ARM processor operating at 800MHz.

The device also includes:

256MB RAM
128MB NAND storage

This hardware platform runs MikroTik RouterOS v7, giving network administrators access to MikroTik’s extensive routing and wireless management capabilities.

Gigabit Ethernet

The L11UG-5HaxD-NB provides 1 × 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet port.

The Gigabit connection provides the wired uplink needed to complement the high-speed Wi-Fi 6 wireless interface.

Passive PoE Power

The Ethernet port supports Passive PoE input from 18–28V DC, allowing network connectivity and power to reach the outdoor unit through the Ethernet installation.

A Gigabit PoE injector and 24V 1.2A power adapter are included with the standard package.

This is particularly convenient for rooftop, tower and pole installations where a conventional electrical socket may not be available next to the device.

USB Type-A Port

The NetBox 5 ax also includes 1 × USB Type A port with maximum USB current of 1.5A.

This provides additional flexibility for compatible storage and other supported USB applications.

IP54 Outdoor Enclosure

The NetBox 5 ax is designed for outdoor deployment and carries an IP54 enclosure rating.

MikroTik specifies a tested operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, making it suitable for demanding outdoor networking environments.

For installation, MikroTik recommends shielded Cat6 cabling, and the device can be mounted on a pole or DIN rail.

RouterOS v7

The NetBox 5 ax runs RouterOS v7 with a Level 4 license. The operating system is already installed and licensed, so a separate RouterOS license purchase is not required.

RouterOS provides extensive networking capabilities for professional deployments, including routing, firewall configuration, network management and wireless configuration.
