UGREEN VGA to HDMI Adapter – CM513

The UGREEN CM513 VGA to HDMI Adapter provides a convenient solution for connecting older computers and other VGA source devices to newer displays that use HDMI.

Converts VGA to HDMI

The main function of the UGREEN CM513 is to convert a VGA analogue video signal into an HDMI digital signal.

This allows equipment with VGA output to connect to an HDMI display without replacing the existing computer or graphics hardware.

A typical connection is:

VGA Computer → UGREEN CM513 → HDMI Cable → HDMI Monitor/TV/Projector

Because VGA and HDMI use fundamentally different signal formats, a simple passive adapter cannot normally perform this conversion. The CM513 therefore uses an internal conversion chipset.

Full HD 1080p Output

The UGREEN CM513 supports output resolutions up to 1920 × 1080 at 60Hz, allowing compatible VGA source devices to display Full HD content on HDMI screens.

It also supports commonly used lower resolutions, depending on the capabilities and settings of the connected source and display.

VGA Male Input

The CM513 connects to the source device through its VGA male connector.

USB Power Connection

Active signal conversion requires electrical power. The CM513 therefore uses a USB power connection to power its internal conversion circuitry.

The USB connection can normally be attached to a USB port on the computer or another suitable USB power source.

Keeping the adapter properly powered helps provide stable signal conversion during operation.

Active Analogue-to-Digital Conversion

The CM513 contains an active conversion chipset because VGA and HDMI are not directly compatible.

Technical Specifications

Important Audio Note

VGA does not transmit sound. Therefore, if you want audio through the HDMI output, the 3.5mm audio connection must also be connected from the source device to the CM513.

For video-only applications such as certain presentations or monitoring systems, the audio connection may not be necessary.
